Our readers use these pages to decide what their business must do and by when. That sets the standard.
Verification before publication
- Primary sources first. Regulatory facts come from the authority that made the rule. Our regulatory sources policy lists what counts as primary and how secondary sources may be used.
- Scope is part of the fact. A deadline is published together with the group it applies to, such as a revenue threshold or a taxpayer category. We do not turn a deadline for one group into a general deadline.
- Hold, don't guess. If a fact cannot be freshly confirmed at the source, the page or tracker row is held back until it can be. We do not infer requirements the authority has not stated.
- Dated. Each regulatory page shows when it was last verified. Facts are re-verified at least every 45 days: our monitoring flags them after 30, and our publishing system refuses to publish regulatory pages older than 45 until they are re-checked.
How pages are written
Pages lead with a direct answer, then the detail and the sources. Drafting may be assisted by software, including AI tools; every factual statement is checked against the cited source before publication, and a person is responsible for each page. We do not publish pages to hit a volume target.
Independence from advertisers
- Sponsors and advertisers never approve, edit or pre-read editorial content, and cannot buy a position in a comparison or the tracker.
- Paid placements are labelled "Sponsored" on the page, and paid links carry
rel="sponsored". - Referral or affiliate relationships are disclosed where the link appears and never decide which provider we describe or in what order.
- Where our publisher's own company, SmartBizAIO, offers a relevant service, it is labelled as ours.
Commercial terms are on the advertise and sponsor page.
